SV021 — Nelson Dionne Collection. View of the (extant) home at 115 Lafayette Street (now 249 Lafayette Street due to street renumbering).
A woman, girl, and baby carriage are visible in front of the house on the sidewalk.
Published by J.W. & J.S. Moulton, Salem, Mass., in what appears to be "[Sal]em Series, American Scenery," c. 1873-76.
Located at the edge of the fire map, the house narrowly escaped being engulfed by the Great Fire of 1914 which demolished the home visible to the left.
Now occupied by Garber Family Dentistry, the house was owned by J.F. Brooks in 1874 and S.J. Gardner in 1911, according to the city atlases. Listed as the John F. Brooks house in MACRIS.
